A few weeks ago, we put out a call asking for bug reports to be filed when LoadMyTracks crashed sending files to Garmin devices. It took almost three weeks, but finally two intrepid users sent in their information and we were able to locate and fix the bug.

It would be very useful if all users took the time to send in bug reports when LoadMyTracks crashes. We can't test everything with every file and some times we just can't tell what has caused a crash until somebody sends us a detailed report.

We are also continuing to improve our support for specialty devices used with sports, including the Edge and Forerunner devices. This version incorporates some new additions to our GPXData schema (still being added to) which provide for more accurate rendering of the information from Garmin devices.

• When sending tracks, additional GPXData information is now sent if available (temp, sensors, distance, etc.)-- previously this was blank
• When downloading from Edge and other devices with "course" support, the course tracks are now downloaded as tracks and marked as such
• On devices with courses (and thus unable to have tracks uploaded to them), all track data is sent up as course tracks, as opposed to "normal" tracks.
• Track numbers are preserved during save/send. However, they are likely ignored by the device when sending
• The course sending code is very new, although it appears to work fine on our Edge 305 during in house testing. Warning: there were cases during testing, which we believe have been fixed, in which the data on the Edge became unstable and required a factory reset. It is a good idea to back up your data before uploading "tracks" to Course-capable devices (Edge, Forerunner, etc).

If you have any Garmin device, please give this one a whirl, as the changes may introduce unforseen consequences. We have tested against a variety of USB devices, including the Quest, StreetPilot, eTrex Legend C, and Edge 305, but are looking for the broadest selection of tests possible.

• All file types that LoadMyTracks understands can now be uploaded (this includes Lowrance and Magellan files as well as GPX mentioned before).
• "Barber pole" animation used for transfers when the count or timeline is unknown
• Magellan retrieves now happen in a separate thread, so status updates better
• Added preliminary support for discovery of NuVI devices--no support for actually using them yet
• Made UI a bit more clear that the check boxes are for both sending and acquiring
• Fixed a bug where sending a GPX file that can't be parsed might result in either: locking the application into a state that can't be changed except by quitting, or sending partial data files after an error message.
