GIS for Mac OS X... Finally!
Cartographica is our newly-released GIS package for the Macintosh. Unlike most other GIS-packages for the Macintosh, this is neither a solution grafted on to a graphics package, nor a program written for X-Windows or Java and dragged kicking and screaming to the Macintosh.
Cartographica is designed for people who need to work with geospatial data in advanced ways to create maps, analyze data, convert between formats, and discover new information about your data and the world in which it lives. As such, we have emphasized easy importation, exploration, analysis, and output in the design of Cartographica and hope that you find it powerful, yet fun to use and easy to explore.

Features
Cartographica has a rich feature set. An exhaustive list would be nearly impossible, but here are some of the key features:
- Support for a huge number of import formats, including many popular Raster formats (GeoTIFF, DEM, MrSID, etc.) and a wide variety of vector formats (ArcInfo, Shape Files, pre-2007 TIGER/Line files, and many more)
- Support for importing and exporting ESRI® Shape Files
- Output to large-format printers
- High-resolution import from pen tablet and puck devices (such as those sold by Wacom)
- Import image data from WMS (Web Map Server) servers
- Analysis features, including Kernel Density Maps, Point in Polygon, and others soon to come
- Flexible style management, including opacity, colors, labels and other ways to make your features stand out
- Extensive Undo and Drag-and-Drop features that you'd expect from a Macintosh program and not find in the PC world
