Cartographica provides users with the ability to change the list of WMS servers available in the program. To add a WMS Server to the included list, follow these steps:
- With an open Cartographica window, select Acquire WMS Data... from the File menu.
- In the Server Name box, enter a recognizable name for the server, this can be almost anything
- In the URL box, enter the URL for the WMS server.
- Click on the Add button
The URL for the WMS server should point directly at the capabilities URL for the service. Often, the URL will end in .cgi or /wms, however there really isn't any standard. Here are some examples of servers we provide by default:
